A life-long lover of fitness, Latoya McKelvin has found purpose in unlocking compassion “one pelvic curl at a time.”

That’s why she founded Movement Matters Collective, which offers pilates, dance and yoga in both large and small group and individual settings. She also hosts corporate wellness events for those in the San Diego area, and virtual classes for everyone else.

Latoya wants to increase revenue and grow her business. But in order to reach those goals, she needed to examine the roadblocks that were preventing her from getting there.

The Problem

Pricing was at the root of Latoya’s revenue roadblock.

Events are a big part of Latoya’s business, but when we started working together, we took a hard look at the numbers and realized her last 10 events were not profitable.

Additionally, after forecasting her sales for this coming year, Latoya wasn’t feeling excited. She knew that something had to change, but struggled with the idea of charging more for her services.

Where mission edge came in

We wanted to help Latoya address her concerns about pricing and help her get to a sales forecast she felt comfortable with.

First, we worked with her to goal-set and work to increase revenue for 2023.

We also helped her analyze the costs associated with increasing revenue, and encouraged her to adjust her pricing structure proportionally.

Finally, we worked on building a stronger financial foundation by building credit for her business, and encouraged her that delegating tasks like admin and accounting could be an advantage as she grows.

The solution

After working with us, Latoya gained a better understanding of her own goals for pricing and revenue.

She was also able to identify areas for cost analysis and business credit building as she explored her own personal relationship with money.

Now, she’s set up to work toward profitability and long term success. With a clearer idea of her goals, some of the stress and workload that goes along with running a business has been alleviated, and she can continue to focus on her passion.

You can see results, too
