This Business Owner Escaped Overwhelm in the Impact Lab

A Cat Sitting Business’s Transformation Journey with Impact Lab

This Business Owner Escaped Overwhelm in the Impact Lab

Natasha Nichols is the owner of Tabby Manor – a cat sitting business that offers in-home care and basic grooming services for feline family members.

When she approached the Impact Lab, she knew she needed to press “paws” on her business to do some much-needed strategic work and assess its financial health. (Don’t worry; we’ll keep our cat puns contained within this first paragraph to spare you from litter-ly turning off your device. OK, we’re done).

challenges

While she wasn’t struggling to find feline friends to care for, Natasha’s business model was marred by an overwhelming workload and the looming shadow of burnout. Like many business owners with too much to do and not enough time to get it done, Natasha needed our support with optimizing time management, understanding profitability, and considering the hiring of administration support.

Where the Impact Lab Came In

Over the course of several weeks and one-on-one coaching sessions, our finance expert Carolynn Duncan helped her tackle:

  • Reviewing profit and loss statements

  • Conducting a profitability assessment

  • Planning for revenue forecasting

  • Team management strategies and techniques

  • Creating a job description for her own role.

Coaching sessions with Carolynn also focused on revenue ideation, exploring referral sources and calculating potential costs associated with administrative support.

The results

Natasha walked away from The Impact Lab with an actionable plan to alleviate stress and avoid overwhelm, even during peak seasons. She received recommendations for productivity tools specific to her industry, like Harvest or Time 2 Pet, and we even helped her better understand the benefits of transitioning to an S Corp structure.

The insights Natasha gained not only will help her scale her business faster – but will help her thrive outside of her title as “CEO.”

Because here at the Impact Lab, we believe entrepreneurs should be able to have the freedom to spend as much time with their families, loved ones, and cats as they want.

Sometimes, it just takes a little strategy and expert coaching to get there.
