Sara Rosales believes in the power of collective community support.

Sara is a business Consultant and the founder of Mujerex Enterprise LLC, an organization that’s focused on helping women and minority business owners with business entity formation, formation strategy and planning. She invests in business owners through education, empowerment and community support.

She is passionate about her mission, and wants to continue to make an impact in her community and beyond. But you can’t pour from an empty cup — and as a small business owner herself, she needed some support in order to maximize her own potential.

The Problem

Sara’s business model is unique, and there aren’t a whole lot of blueprints out there on how to run a business like hers.

When she started working with us, Sara needed help with the pricing structure of her online business course. She also needed to streamline the services she offers, and overall, help with financial modeling.

While learning to balance the demands of solopreneur life and gearing up to launch an online course, Sara struggled to prioritize self-care. She needed an unbiased perspective to help her manage the time frame of her launch while taking care of her own wellbeing.

Where mission edge came in

We paired Sara with finance expert Carolynn, who helped her take an in-depth survey of the fiscal state of her business.

After looking at data from comparable services in the San Diego area, they determined a good benchmark for labor costs so Sara could delegate some of her tasks. Having real, objective financial data to inform her decision to delegate was a gamechanger for Sara because it allowed her to properly manage her time and energy – her most precious resource.

They were also able to work on her service menu and discussed how the amount a customer pays for a service needs to be proportional with the work being put in on the other end for profit margins to make sense.

Understanding that her profit margins were in sync with her financial goals gave her ease and the confidence to find other ways to scale her business.

In their time together, Sara and Carolynn were able to build a stronger foundation for her business.

But we also knew that if Sara wasn’t able to take care of herself, she’d burn out. We encouraged Sara to prioritize small but meaningful ways to rejuvenate.

The solution

After working with us, Sara’s gained clarity on how to successfully — and sustainably — launch her online course without burning out.

She’s currently figuring out how to scale her launch, and crunching the numbers to prepare for 2024. And with a better self-care plan that better protects her time, Sara is able to continue to work hard without running out of steam and crashing.

You can see results, too

As a small business owner, you’re running a marathon, not a sprint.

We want to empower you to follow your dreams, but you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your wellbeing to get there. And you shouldn’t have to do it alone.
